All Inclusive Resorts in Mexico

Mexico All Inclusive Resorts are a little more difficult to classify than resorts in the Caribbean islands since you need to break down your trip by the region of Mexico you wish to visit first and then select the appropriate property. A third criteria we suggest you consider is the cost for airfare from your city as one of the important criteria. For example, it may be significantly less expensive for you to fly to Cancun than to Puerta Vallarta or vice versa.

Mexico All Inclusive Resort Select Regions

Remember, just because you don't see a property listed doesn't mean they don't offer an all inclusive package as an extension to a "normal" hotel reservation. Also don't forget to check with your travel professional about each region should a hurricane effect the areas such as was the case with Hurricane Wilma.

Acapulco - Tends to draw a wider, more diverse and sophisticated crowd than you'll find in other resort hotspots such as Cancun which can be more important for those travelling with children. Acapulco's reputation as a party haven continues. This famous travel destination is being restored to its former glory with many hotels undergoing renovation. Located on the Pacific coast this city of over two million feels much smaller. Some of the best resorts in Acapulco include:

  • Quinta Real Acapulco - Very romantic and intimate
  • Camino Real Acapulco Diamante - Apart from it all with the feel of the French Riveria
  • Fairmont Acapulco Princess - One of the best known resorts in the city, but also one of the most secluded and relaxing.
  • Las Brisas Resort - Excellent choice for honeymooners with the ability to even get your own small house with a private pool. Amazing property.
  • Hyatt Regency Acapulco - All around very solid property and holds the "Grand Tourism" designation from the government.
  • Villa Vera Hotel & Racquent Club - Central location

Cancun and Zona Hotelera - Cancun and it's barrier island, Zona Hotelera, embody what you'd expect in a resort destination. Modern, clean, and posh with little of the historical charm found in many other travel destinations of Mexico. One traveller said it is the perfect place to experience the future of Mexico tourism. You'll find excellent restaurants, shopping, nightspots, mingled with high-rise hotels and condominiums. Cancun is a great first visit to a Mexico resort destination with so many attractions designed specifically for travelers. There are more hotels than we can list, but here are a few to consider.

  • Fiesta Americana Grand Aqua - New, five star hotel with flat-screen TV, but who'd watch them anyways.
  • JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa - You can't go wrong with Marriott
  • Hilton Cancun Beach & Golf Resort
  • Ritz-Carlton Cancun

Cozumel - This beautiful island sitting off the Yucatan Peninsula provides both calm waters and beautiful white sandy beaches on one side and rock strewn beaches with impressive surf on the other. Historically, Cozumel was the sacred site for their fertility god, Ixchel. It is a amazing, friendly, charming island despite the frequent and sometime intrusive cruise ships crowds.

  • Presidente InterContinental Cozumel Resort & Spa
  • Hacienda San Miguel

Caribbean Coast - Beaches, Beaches, and more Beaches. Mexico's Caribbean coast is defined by some of the whitest beaches you'll ever see. While the beaches are uniformly spectacular, each city and region is unique with something for everyone.

  • Playa del Carmen - Like Cancun and Cozumel, Playa del Carmen is filled with resorts, many of which are all inclusive. Don't forget to take time to visit teh Maya ruins of Chichen Itza, Tulum, Coba, and Dzibanch. Playa del Carmen is a modern city, but it has a "South American" feel to it that separates it from some of its' neighboring resort areas. There are so many all inclusive properties to choose from, but here are a few we'd suggest.
    • Royal Porto Real - An amazing property with 312 stylish ocean view suites.
    • Iberostar Paraiso Lindo - With 24 hours All Inclusive Service you have to consider this property.
    • Occidental Grand Xcaret - The eco-friendly property located adjacent to the Xcaret Park is just five minutes from Playa del Carmen.

Ixtapa & Zihuatanejo - Take two cities with two very different stories, but one common theme and you have Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo. Zihuatanejo was made famous as the dream getaway destination in the film the "Shawshank Redemption". However, the actual movie scenes of Zihuatanejo actually took place in the U.S. Virgin Islands. This beautiful, old-world fishing village is situated around a small bay without highrises you often find in other resort areas. Located about 145 miles northwest of Acapulco on the Pacific Ocean, Zihuatanejo provides you the old-fashioned Mexican charm oftentimes missing in the larger resort communities. Ixtapa was created in the early 1970's on what was once a coconut plantation and mangrove estuary. The beaches are great, but you will not find the mega-resorts or attractions of Cancun or Playa del Carmen.

  • La Cas Que Canta - A very distinct hotel that clings to the side of a cliff. You have to consider it.
  • Club Med - Make sure to check out their Family Plan

Los Cabos - Cabos San Lucas / San Jose Del Cabo - Collectively known as Los Cabos this all-inclusive resort destination provides the wild and crazy all-inclusive stereotypes as well as distinctly family and couples oriented resort getaways. Practically, Cabos San Lucas can be wild while San Jose Del Cabo is much more restrained. Connecting the two is "The Corridor" which is a 17 mile strip of ultra luxury resorts and golf courses. Something for everyone. Once again there are so many possibilities, but here are just a few.

  • Location - The Corridor - Esperanza
  • Location - The Corridor - Las Ventanas al Paraiso
  • Location - Cabo San Lucas - Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Resorts
  • Location - San Jose del Cabo - Club Solaris Cabo
  • Location - San Jose del Cabo - Grand Baja Resort & Spa

Puerto Vallarta - Whew...having a hard time keeping them straight? To provide you with one more option you have Puerto Vallarta or PV is a cross between Acapulco and Cancun. Located on the Pacific side, Puerto Vallarta was a traditional Mexcian village before gaining worldwide recognition as a resort travel destination. This means you'll find the old-world charm you'd expect on a trip to Mexico as well as some breathtaking resorts. It's a great combination.

  • Playa Fiesta Beachclub & Hotel
  • Casa Magna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort
  • Villa Premiere Hotel & Spa
