Mexico Visitors Guide: What to do in Mexico
OK...we know Mexico is not an island (even though it contains islands like Cozumel), but the island lifestyle
is a central theme. Mexico is an extremely unique holiday destination because its offers a number of different
holiday activities to meet your specific desires. Whatever you prefer doing on holiday, the chances are there
is something for you in Mexico. It’s a great place both for active people and for those who look rather
for calmness and serenity.
Mexico by the Sea
For those interested in ocean activities, there are countless possibilities of spending their time.
Boating, sailing, windsurfing, swimming, snorkel or scuba diving and even kite surfing are widely available
there. Most holiday resorts offer both the equipment and the instructors for those who would like to learn
something new.
Of course there is also something for those who prefer less taxing activities – going fishing or
sunbathing on white sand beaches will let you experience the nature just as wind- or kite surfing will do.
Mexico Land Tours
If you’re unaffected by the magic of the sea, you can try land trips. Just go on one of bus or jeep
trips to see the stunningly beautiful Mayan sites. While all the common resort destinations have lots to
see and do there are some areas that offer more than others. For example, Cancun and Cabo San Lucas are
destination unto themselves with many travellers enjoying a completely self-contained trip without ever leaving
their resort. If you'd rather get out and see the sites you may wish to consider a destination like Playa del
Carmen or Puerto Vallarta.
Mexico Nightlife
With such a large number of tourists every year it is next to impossible NOT to experience great nightlife.
Nightly entertainments, theme parties and famous theme nights form one of the greatest nightlife experiences
in the World. Destinations like Cancun, Acapulco and Cabo San Lucas tend to nightlife to a whole new level
versus an island getaway like Cozumel.
Mexico Weather and Climate
The Mexico weather is almost unbelievable, but there are times that are more popular than
others. High season for Cancun starts at the end of November and lasts until early April.
Around Christmas and New Years you'll find most hotel rates at their absolute highest.
Also don't forget that if you are planning to travel around Christmas, Spring Break or
Easter start your trip planning at least four months ahead of time. Summer months in Mexico
can be very hot and humid.
